“Zayed Compounds”,
a virtual view of your dream house
The Sheikh Zayed Housing Program
(SZHP) has developed a mobile app
which is considered the first-of-its-kind
virtual housing compounds in the region.
The app enables users to view SZHP’s
housing compounds under execution and
its future projects.
The app also allows users to view of the
housing compounds and access ready-
made housing models and view interiors,
besides booking a house where users
can see available and booked houses
and learn about the specifications of
each one.
The “Zayed Compounds” app is available
for download round the clock for all types
of smartphones and can be used any-
where at any time.
The app takes the work in the housing
field to new stages where applicants can
now, prior the start of the project, select
the house that meet their requirements
and aspirations, view the surrounding en-
vironment and check how close or far it is
from service facilities. In the past, house
allocation process used to follow criteria
set by teams and committees respon-
sible for studying applications during the
final stages of the housing project.
The app gives users an idea about the life
inside the compound through the virtual
landscapes, where they can also get an
idea about the public utilities and servic-
es in the compound, such as mosques,
health centers, schools, parks and other
utilities.
‘Virtual Reality’ introduced to
‘Wojhati’ app
The Dubai Road & Transport Author-
ity (RTA) has introduced a new update
of the ‘Wojhati’ app as part of its en-
deavor to implement the world’s best
practices of shaping & enriching the
growth of smart cities.
RTA has enhanced Wojhati with the
Virtual Reality technology on Android
platforms in the first stage, with the
aim of capturing & assessing users
feedback & suggestions and accord-
ingly identifying their needs and aspi-
rations.
The new feature focuses on creating
an interactive environment that emu-
lates the reality and integrates it with
the app so that the user can figure out
the stops and routes of public buses
as well as the metro journeys in a live
and real-time mode, besides automat-
ically obtaining information relating to
timetables and distances from differ-
ent user locations by simply pointing
the camera of the smart phone to any
direction from any position.
Since the launch of the app in Octo-
ber 2013, around 137 thousand users
have downloaded it and 22 million in-
quiries about journeys of public trans-
port were made through the system.
