Gitex 2014 sales hit AED 259 million
According to the Dubai World Trade Center released
figures, Dhs259 million worth of electronics were sold
during Gitex Shopper 2014 in Dubai, while the number
of visitors to its venue reached 211,398 visitors. Results
demonstrates that the exhibition which drew to a close
on 4th October, celebrated a remarkable success.
1100 smart services through
Abu Dhabi Portal by 2015
Rashid Lahej Al Mansoori, Director General of
Abu Dhabi Systems & Information Centre has
unveiled that Abu Dhabi Portal will offer 1100
services through one system in 2015. Al Man-
soori said that 70 smart services will be offered
by Abu Dhabi eGovernment via 20 systems and
in participation of 22 government entities.
$13 billion value of smart homes
market
According to Grand View Research, the
value of the global Smart Home market was
valued at $13 billion in 2013. With a com-
pounded annual growth rate of 20.3 per cent,
it is projected to reach $47.61 billion by 2020.
1 million active e-Dirham cards
According to the Ministry of Finance, 1 million
e-Dirham cards are active and in use since
the launch of the service in the country.
920,0000 visitors to RAK government portal
The Ras Al Khaimah eGovernment platform has attracted up to
920,000 visitors during the first ten months of this year to avail the
200 smart services easily accessible at the portal, in addition to avail-
ing four government electronic services using their smart phones.
