Breast Cancer Awareness Month Tips
On its Twitter account, the UAE Ministry
of Health (MOH) tweeted a series of tips
to avoid breast cancer for October breast
cancer awareness month.
The MOH tweeted: How can you decrease
your chance of having Breast cancer?
There are some measures that may less-
en your risk of Breast cancer. Having the
1st child before the age of 30, breastfeed-
ing and eating healthy build a good immu-
nity system in the body. Eat five portions of
vegetables/fruits per day such as antioxi-
dants (radish, broccoli, spinach, cabbage,
lettuce) and fruits containing vitamin C as
in oranges and lemons. Whole grains, le-
gumes, pomegranate, grapes, extra virgin
oil, green tea are rich in antioxidants and
potent anti-cancer foods.
The series of tweets continued: It is a fact
that health eating plays a critical role in
building a good immunity system in the
body. Following a healthy lifestyle based
on activity and movement is also impor-
tant for the immunity of the body. Keep op-
timum vitamin D blood level, engaging in
3-4 hours physical activity per week or 30
minutes/day increase healthier life style.
Limit intake of fat intake esp. saturated fat
besides to avoid obesity or overweight.

Prime Minister and Minister of Inte-
rior, launched the Ministry of Interior
(MoI) the 2nd version of the annual
Award for Smartphone Applications.

Operations and Head of the E-Ser-
vices and Smart Applications Team
at the Ministry of Interior (MoI), said
that this award reflects the keenness
of the ministry to open new horizons
for creativity and to provide an en-
vironment that encourages innova-
tion, thus improving the services in
our beloved homeland and making
the UAE one of the best countries in
research and development.
This award also falls under the vi-
sion of the government to place the
UAE as one of the most creative
countries in the world, reflecting the
national strategy for creativity.
He also added that the second ver-
sion of the MoI award embodies
the ministry’s commitment to build-
ing strategic partnerships with aca-
demic institutions in order to attract
and support the innovative ideas of
students. It also aims to build and
encourage talent and stimulate their
innovative ideas in order to foster
the established service structure in
all fields - most particularly in the
electronic and smart fields.
The MoI Award for Smartphone Ap-
plications will include the category of
‘Best Innovative Ideas’ for university
students and is based on the best
service practices via the Mobile
Government Guidelines in addition
to the specific standards of the MoI
Awards for Smartphone Applica-
tions. Both standards will motivate
students to participate in technologi-
cal research development.
