Abdul Latif Al Saree, Director Gen-
eral, Central Agency for Information
Technology, Kuwait, clarified that
GCC countries are making tangible
progress in eTransformation of gov-
ernment services, which ultimately
serves the project of finding a unified
Gulf eGovernment that provides ser-
vices to all citizens in the Gulf region.
He added that “the recency of such
transformation in some GCC coun-
tries and slow rates of implemen-
tation at a number of their govern-
ment entities form an obstacle on
the way to rapid execution of such
a unified platform. The challenge is
that the rapid transformation can be
achieved through allocating large
budgets and benefit from expertise
of the Gulf countries that pioneered
in this respect”.
Al Saree pointed out that “ the UAE
has taken the leadership in eTrans-
formation as it tended to adopt it
soon as the idea emerged in the
