logical cooperation, the UAE came
fifth with Sweden in the top position,
whereas it came ninth in the index
of funding for technological develop-
ment. The UAE occupied the twelfth
position with Sweden in the first place
in the index of the regulation of tech-
nology, and the second place in the
index of information security.
The global information technology
report issued by the global economic
forum stated that the UAE occupied
the twenty-second position in the in-
dex of the software piracy rates for
installed software with USA in first
position, as well as the twenty-third
position in the index of the availability
of the latest technology with Sweden
in first position. In regards to the in
-
dex of the government procurement
of advanced technology, the UAE ac-
quired third position whereas the first
position was occupied by Qatar, while
it acquired first position in the index
of mobile phone internet coverage (in
relation to the population).
In the index of the competitiveness of
the internet and communication ser-
vices, the UAE acquired the hundred
and twenty-third place with several
other countries occupying the first
position. In regards to the index of
mobile phone subscriptions/100 resi-
dents, the UAE acquired the sixteenth
position with Hong Kong in the first
place.
In the index of the use of virtual social
networks, the UAE came in the twen-
ty-first position with Iceland in the first
place, and in the index of the incorpo-
rating technology in companies, it ac-
quired the twelfth position while Swe

den got the first. The UAE also came
in the seventeenth position in the in-
dex of using the internet (companies
– companies) with Finland in the first
while it occupied the twenty-first posi

vision of the government, it came in
the third position with Singapore in

Moreover, it came in the forty-first
position in the index of the number of
technological patents according to the
PCT (the patent cooperation treaty)
with Finland in the first position, and
occupied the eleventh position in the
index of the impact of information and
communication technology on new
organizational models where Britain
came in first position. In the index of
the impact of information and com-
munication technologies on access-
ing the basic services, the UAE came
in the sixth place whereas it came in
the thirtieth position in the index of the
percentage of employees in techno-
logically advanced posts. It also occu-
pied third position in the index of the
use of information and communica-
tion technology and the government
efficiency, and the eleventh position
in the index of electronic participation,
0-1 (better).
