achieve the best results and accomplish-
ments that maintain the UAE’s position
regionally and internationally.
Since His Highness Sheikh Mohammed
bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-Pres-
ident and Prime Minister and Ruler of
Dubai launched the m-Government initia-
tive in May 2013, the MOI has not spared
any effort in implementing this transforma-
tion. Our aim is to provide creative, inno-
vative and dedicated services.
The MOI strive to develop the strategic
plan for transformation in line with the
m-Government initiative, which aims to
make the UAE the world’s number one
country in delivering smart services. The
MOI offers 339 services to the public. It
shall transform popular services that are
more in demand into smart services by
the end of 2015.
What are the measures taken that
can expedite the transformation
and guarantee its success?
There is no doubt that the success of the
transformation process is closely related
to the presence of an effective partnership
between all society groups and federal or
local entities, as well as various research
centers. This should have a great impact
on accelerating the process and achiev-
ing its goal.
The transformation process calls for stra-
tegic plans, creative leadership and dedi-
cated employees. The process also needs
the development of academic courses
as well as communication channels and
awareness campaigns to educate young
generations and the public about the con-
cept of mGov initiative, digital culture and
knowledge society.
In general, we can confirm that this tran-
sition will be a boosting step for the UAE
plans in human development and services
development. This should guarantee the
safety and welfare of the people. There is
no doubt that smart apps have dramati-
cally reshaped government work.
In the fast-paced application of the
transition process by the end of 2015,
does this represent a security risk?
There is no doubt that there are some se-
curity risks involved, that’s why the Min-
istry makes it a point to understand the
use of these services and conduct several
tests of the smart services to ensure safe
