An academic research has found that cell
phone separation can have serious psycho-
logical and physiological effects on iPhone
users, which is relatively similar to symptoms
associated with addiction treatment.
Researchers from the University of Missouri
conducted a study on 40 iPhone users to
stop at the impact of extensive daily usage
of iPhone. The participants were not told the
real purpose of the experiment to ensure ac-
curacy of results.
Participants were asked to complete a word
puzzle with their iPhones in their posses-
sion. During the experiment, the iPhones
were taken away citing their impact on the
measurement devices in the room. Once
their iPhones were taken away, participants
started experiencing negative effects.
Participants recorded elevation of anxiety
after being separated from their iPhones, in
addition to increase of heartbeats rate and
blood pressure.
Facebook has taken steps to combat the
rampant false news stories that flood among
Facebook’s 1.53 billion members.
Facebook said that it allowed users to flag
the news as false or deceiving stories in a
step to reduce the distribution of posts that
people reported as hoaxes.
Facebook clarified that it will not delete the
false news from the site. Its famous algo-
rithm, which decides how widely users are
distributed, will rather consider reports on
hoaxes.
It explained that posts with links to news that
were flagged as fake or deleted will just ap-
pear far less often in the news feed.
