Samsung Electronics has unveiled the
world’s thinnest and lightest tablet Galaxy
Tab S, stressing that it embodies the next
generation of tablets.
In a press conference, Samsung’s senior of-
ficials pointed out that Samsung’s new tablet
is the thinnest and lightest tablet among com-
parative displays produced by other compa-
nies.
“Combined with long battery life, multi-task-
ing capabilities and the ability to receive
voice calls, the Tab S is the perfect device
for both work and leisure purposes,” said
Samsung Business Head for Mobility Sales
Group, Denzil D’Souza.
The Galaxy Tab S embodies the next evo-
lution in mobile display technology. Its
(2560x1600, 16:10) display delivers more
detailed and more true-to-life images.
The device’s multitasking feature allows us-
ers to surf the internet, watch videos, share
content and make calls, all simultaneously.
A group of students from Berghs School of
Communication in Sweden, in collaboration
with Google, are developing a new app that
translates sign language into speech. The
project won the Cannes Lions Festival Award
for Student Creativity.
The project, which is called “Google Ges-
ture”, uses wristbands that analyze muscles
movement while communicating in sign lan-
guage and then send the results to a smart-
phone app which translates the gestures into
speech.
The app aims to help bridge the gap between
those who use sign language and those who
don’t by providing real-time translation of
these signs.
Google had previously added some soft-
ware that help the deaf and hearing impaired
people communicate using technology. for
example, the Google Translate app coverts
spoken words into written text instantly.

Microsoft
increases OneDrive cloud storage to 15GB
Microsoft Corp., the giant US soft-
ware firm, has increased the free cloud
storage capacity for users of OneDrive.com
from 7 to 15 gigabytes.
Microsoft announced that users can now pay
$1.99 monthly for 100 gigabytes instead of the
$7.99 currently paid, or $3.99 each month for
200 gigabytes, which currently cost $11.49.
In the same context, users of Office 365
will get one terabytes of OneDrive
storage instead of the 20 gigabytes

ers contract will be amended so that
they automatically benefit from the new
offers.
To face the increasing competition from compa-
nies like Apple, Google and Amazon, Microsoft
launched the “Mobile First, Cloud First” strategy
allowing Microsoft apps and data on any mobile
device, even those produced by its competitors.
