Smart Ring
lets you send text
messages, pay
bills and control
household appliances
Logbar chose the name Ring for its new
smart ring, which allows users to send text
messages, make payments online and
control household appliances from your
fingertips.
Ring works by using gesture recognition
technology to sense gestures while users
wear the device on their index fingers. Us
-
ers tap the side of the ring to turn it on,
and then make a gesture to select what
function they want to use.
Users can connect their smart ring to their
smartphone. For example, to send a text
message, just draw the shape of an enve-
lope in the air then draw letters with your
finger. Users are encouraged to use Ring
for writing short messages such as “OK”
or “5mins” as longer sentences can be
-
come troublesome.
Users can draw the shape of a camera
in mid-air and Ring will activate the cam
-
eras on the smartphone to take pictures.
Logbar inc, Ring creators, say that it can
be used to control home appliances such
as a smart lamp; users can draw a light
bulb in the air, and once activated, they
would be able to turn on or off the light.

business partners to join the mall. Its kick
off in the UAE is only phase one of a series
of coming phases for the first virtual mall

of this year, the project executives seek to
launch the mall in the Arabian Gulf coun-
