T
he United Arab Emirates has adopted a clear vi-
sion relying on utilizing the infrastructure and
implementing information technology projects that should serve individu-
als and organizations across various fields. The projects also aim at sup
-
porting the economic and social development and growth, increasing pro-
ductivity and innovation and elevating the quality of life in the UAE. The
vision reflects the pivotal and growing role of information and communica
-
tions technology (ICT) in the country, being one of the government’s major
tools in building a competitive knowledge-based economy that relies on
innovation and excellence.
