mGovernment Magazine - Issue 8 - page 42

Facebook page is a personal page
Homepage focuses needs to focus
more on the most uded services
tent across the website (e.g. the FEWA
Portal). Also, the content of this page is
not available in Arabic (screenshot 2).
The sitemap is well organised and helps
the user reach different sections of the
website.
The font colour used in the webiste is light
which makes it difficult to read.
Content:
Website content is a very crucial element
in ensuring its success in meeting users’
needs and expectations. The content
should be succinct and provide users with
the information they need, without being
distracted by unnecessary messages.
Following are a few remarks on the
website in this regard:
The website is rich in information and
services in both Arabic and English. It
provides detailed information about the
services and the documents required for
each service (screenshot 3).
FAQ section is very rich. However, it
would be useful if there’s a window for the
user to ask more questions.
The website is available in Arabic and
English. However, clicking on the lan-
guage button opens the homepage not
the corresponding page.
The website provides various communi-
cation channels with the public including
online chat and social media. However,
there is not much interaction with the
public through these channels. Also, the
content does not focus mainly on the Min-
istry’s services.
FEWA’s page on Facebook is a personal
page which requires the user to send a
friend request. It should be an institutional
page (screenshot 4).
Final Remarks:
The aim of this quick review is to highlight
the main features and unique character-
istics of the website in addition to a few
areas that can be improved in order to
provide a better user experience.
The website was reviewed from 1-5 May,
2014. Any changes on the website after
that date are not reflected.
Your comments and remarks are always
welcomed.
