500 million active ‘WhatsApp’ users
The mobile instant messaging services, ‘whatsApp’ announced
that it has hit 500 million active users per month, an increase of
around 50 million users from mid-February 2014 when Face-
book declared plans to acquire the company.
WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum said that the 500 million ac-
tive users are sharing 700 million photos and 100 million vid-
eos every single day.
Photos make up 75 percent of commer-
cial Facebook posts
According to a study conducted by Social Bakers
in March 2014, 75 percent of content posted by
brands on Facebook are photos. Links came sec-
ond accounting for 10 percent of posts.

streaming service ‘MixRadio’ has added 30
million tracks to its international catalogue.

Apple’s first quarter revenue exceeded expecta-
tions totaling at $45.6 billion with a net profit of $10.2

$10.18 per diluted share projected by analysts.
1.28 billion monthly active users and 1.01 billion
smartphones
The world’s No.1 Internet social network, Facebook, unveiled
that its total number of monthly active users reached 1.28 bil-
lion as of March 31, with 1.01 billion of those users accessing
its service via mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.
