With AWQAF app, all the services pro-
vided by the General Authority for Islamic
Affairs and Endowment (Awqaf) have
been made available to everyone in the
country. The move is part of the Author-
ity’s strategic plan aimed at elevating its
role in the society and serving its vision
and mission.
The AWQAF app allows users to access
all services provided by the Authority.
It comprises of nine main sections, be-
ing: About the Authority, Publications and
books, Friday sermons, Fatwa, Commu
-
nication channel with the official Fatwa
Center, Masjid (locate nearest mosque),
Waqf, Hajj and Umrah, and Contact us.
The first sections includes all Fatawa with
questions and answers and allows the
user to send any Fatwa they would like to
inquire about by SMS or via e-mail.
The second section, Masjid, provides
users with all information they need on
prayer times, Qiblah and the nearest
Masjid for them.
The app also provides information about
Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque with pictures
and panorama technology.
The Hajj and Umrah section contains
details on all rites performed in Hajj and
Umrah, and allows users to send their
suggestions and complaints, as well as
to follow all Emirates official campaigns
on Hajj and Umrah.
Through the app, users can also get all
Friday sermons with the ability to read,
listen to, and download them.
More over the app allows users the op-
portunity to browse and download all the
Authority’s books and publications and
get any news and information on Waqf
and Awqaf.
Launched in 2012, AWQAF app is fea-
tured with integrated main and sub lists
and the variety of its contents. It can be
easily downloaded from various operat-
ing systems and is free of technical is-
sues that may prevent the user from
making best use of its services.
The app is available in Arabic and Eng-
lish on Android, iOS, Windows phone
and Blackberry. It is technically designed
to allow future upgrades of its services,
contents and features.
AWQAF has won the 18th Middle East
eGov and eServices Excellence Award
in the ‘Mobile App Excellence Award’ cat
