Weak interaction through
social media
FAQs are very comprehensive
Homepage focuses on the user
Following are a few remarks on the
website in this regard:
The homepage is characterized by a
simple design and focuses on the user
(screenshot 1).
The font type is not consistent across
the Arabic pages (screenshot 2).
The search tool works fine. However, it
would be better if the phrase searched
for appears at the top of the results page.
Also, the list on the right of the results is
not clear.
The sitemap is well organised and helps
the user reach different sections of the
website.
Content:
Website content is a very crucial ele-
ment in ensuring its success in meet-
ing users’ needs and expectations. The
content should be succinct and provide
users with the information they need,
without being distracted by unnecessary
messages.
Following are a few remarks on the
website in this regard:
The website is rich in information and
services in both Arabic and English. It
provides detailed information about pro-
cedures including service “Flow Chart”.
However, the flow charts are not avail
-
able in English (screenshot 4).
FAQ section is very rich. However, it
would be useful if there’s a window for
the user to ask more questions.
Content of some of the pages (i.e.
Events and Activities) is not updated
(screenshot 5).
The website provides various commu-
nication channels with the public includ-
ing social media. However, there is not
much interaction with the public through
these channels. Also, the content does
not focus mainly on the Ministry’s ser-
vices.
Final Remarks:
The aim of this quick review is to high
-
light the main features and unique char
-
acteristics of the website in addition to a
few areas that can be improved in order
to provide a better user experience.
The website was reviewed from 24-26
February, 2014. Any changes on the
website after that date are not reflected.
