SEHA provides health tips
to Hajj pilgrims
GSMS14 calls for brand
awareness improvement
On its Twitter account @SEHAHealth, Abu Dhabi Health Services Com-
pany – SEHA, responsible for running and developing the health sector
at hospitals and clinics in Abu Dhabi offered a series of tips to Hajj pil-
grims under hashtag #Hajj #pilgrimage. The guide aims to provide pil-
grims with tips on safety and prevention of health issues that may result
from being in large crowds and direct exposure to sun heat.
SEHA tweeted, “Avoid exposure to the sun for long, and use an um-
brella when necessary. Light colored umbrellas are recommended,”
“Drink enough liquids (water, juices, etc.) regularly”.
SEHAalso tweeted, “Loose, light colored cloths are recommend-
ed. Don’t use heavy cloths”. It advised pilgrims to wear masks
in overcrowded places and replace masks regularly. Clean
water and preferably bottled mineral water is recom-
mended for drinking and cooking. Fruits with thick
peels like bananas and oranges are recom-
mended to ensure cleanliness and
non-contamination.
At the 3rd GCC Government Social
Media Summit (GSMS14) in Dubai,
social media specialists stated com-
municators must deliberate carefully
over brand messages to captivate
online audiences.
Themes that resounded in speaker
messages repeatedly included the
value of online communications in
building brand advocates and the
challenges of developing targeted
content to filter through the multiple
layers of information shared on so-
cial media channels.
Corey Padveen, Director of Global
Social Business Strategy at t2 Mar-
keting Solutions highlighted the
importance of creating a targeted
content strategy. “There is virtually
an endless supply of information on
social media,” he said. “With such in-
formation overload, consumers only
spend an average of 8 seconds on
every piece of content they come
across. Responsive communica-
tions is all about using those 8 valu-
able seconds to sharing the right
messages at the right time with the
right people who could become your
brand advocates,” he added.
Eng. Manar AlHashash, Advisor
to the Minister at Kuwait Council
of Ministries, said: “Research has
shown that the quantity of tweets,
images and other content generated
on social media by family and friends
during the first day of a baby’s life is
70 times as much as the data pres-
ent in the Library of Congress, which
is recognized as the world’s single
largest source of information.”
