Japanese scientists have designed a
smart trashcan that can be used in in
household, commercial and corporate
settings.
This smart trashcan moves itself to catch
garbage as you toss it.
The system includes a wireless sen-
sor to detect the motion of trash being
tossed, and tells the trashcan, by wire-
less communication, where it needs to
go in order to catch the trash.
A world first electronic smart pump
which aims to increase the survival
chances of victims of chronic heart
failure is being developed by re-
searchers at Nottingham Trent Uni-
versity. The smart pump would be
powered by a battery implanted in the
patient’s body and would be entirely
self-contained, without the need for
the patient to be bed-bound in hos-
pital or connected to large machinery
via catheters.
The smart aortic graft would be im-
planted into a removed section of the
aorta - the large artery which exits
the left ventricle in the heart – to im-
prove the heart’s efficiency and the
blood flow.
