MOI urges families to use the
“Hemayati” app
The Ministry of Interior’s (MoI)
Child Protection Center (CPC)
urged families in the UAE to use
“Hemayati” application.  This step
coincides with the beginning of the
new academic year, and aims to en-
hance the safety and protection of
children. The application provides
parents with the ability to communi-
cate with their children at all times,
and includes a built-in feature that
enables children to send distress
calls to their parents when they feel
threatened. The requests notify the
Operations Room about the SOS
notification with a single click. It also
enables the police to keep in con-
stant contact with the families and
their children and handle the “Smart
SOS” with the highest priority, while
the police respond to these emer-
gencies within four minutes.
Major General Nasser Lakhrebani
Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the
Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister
and Minister of Interior and Chair-
man of the Higher Committee for
Child Protection at MOI, said: “This
application embodies the direc-
tives of the higher leadership, and
falls in line with the CPC’s efforts
to make use of smart technology in
enhancing public confidence, and
in achieving the aspirations of the
UAE to become a platform and role
model in child protection and secu-
rity.” He said, “‘Hemayati’ is also a
translation of the government’s vi-
sion to make the UAE one of the
safest places in the world by achiev-
ing a 100% total sense of security
and by reducing the response time
for emergency calls to just four min-
utes.”
The Secretary-General stated that
the UAE is one of the world’s most
secure countries, calling upon all in-
dividuals and institutions to act with
resolve and determination to main-
tain security and stability and to pro-
tect national gains achieved by this
young country in all fields. He also
stressed keenness to employ the
latest means of technology so as to
contribute in achieving the vision of
Abu Dhabi 2030 for Abu Dhabi to be
one of the best five e-governments
in the world (which falls in line with
the Federal Government’s UAE vi-
sion 2021).
In Dubai, Open Rooms in the
Tallest Hotel in the World
via a Smart App
J W Marriot Hotel Dubai, the tall-
est hotel in the world, launched a
check-in/-out app service on smart
mobile phones which allows visi-
tors to download an app on their
phones so that their room key is
available when they arrive to the
hotel.
Through this easy application,
Marriott Rewards members can
receive notifications on their smart
phone at 4:00 p.m. a day before
their arrival time to notify them of
the possibility to check in. Then
they receive an automatic notifi-
cation when their rooms are avail-
able, and the hotel informs them
beforehand of being now ready
to receive them. When payment
information is stored in the mem-
bers’ files, the visitors have just
to visit the reservation desk on
their mobile phone and then their
check-in card will be ready for
them to use.
When their reservation is expired,
the hotel visitors receive another
notification guiding them to the
possibility of checking out through
phone. When procedures are
done, the app asks visitors to feed
the hotel with their emails to which
pay bills are sent. This allows them
to easily avoid the regular proce-
dures of the reservation desk.
