Over 100 students and 12 teachers from six
schools in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain have partici-
pated in the five-month educational program
“The eAdventure 2014” jointly organized by
the National Authority for Electronic Security
and the Abu Dhabi Education Council.
The program aims to highlight the significance
of electronic and information security being a
key element within the education systems in
UAE.
The contest saw a strong competition between
the ten participating teams within an exciting
set of challenges related to electronics securi-
ty. Each of the teams comprised 3 high school
Emirati students.
Four teams qualified for the final phase, where
the first place went to Al Hissn School team in
Abu Dhabi, Al Maqam School came second,
while Al Dahma school teams third grabbed
the third and fourth positions.
The Electronic Investigation Department at Dubai
Police has warned people from falling victims of
fraudsters and cyber criminals or allowing them to
entrap other community members.
Remarks came during a workshop on “Cyber
Crimes” conducted by the Dubai Police Depart-
ment of Social Services’ awareness commu-
nication section in coordination with the CID’s
electronic investigation department as part of the
awareness-raising campaign on the risks associ-
ated with internet use.
Capt. Dr Abdullah Hussein Al Janahi, organizer
of the event from awareness communication sec-
tion, stressed the workshop targets the internal
police forces and is part of the awareness-raising
campaign aimed at educating people on e-crimes
and eliminating it occurrence.
On his part, Lt. MohammedAbdullahAl Kaabi from
the electronic investigation department, clarified
that department fights technology-based crimes
like blackmailing, threatening, slandering, identity
theft, inciting debauchery and insulting religion
through SMS, email or social media websites.

UAQ Ruler approves plan to shift
to mGovernment
His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid
Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla,
Supreme Council Member and Ruler
of Umm Al Quwain, has approved the
2014-2015 strategic plan for shifting to
mGovernment prepared by the Depart-
ment of eGovernment in the emirate.
Sheikh Saud was briefed by the depart-
ment on the mechanisms of implement-
ing the plan and its key procedures that
will be implemented in UAQ.
Khalid Sultan Al Shamsi, Director-Gen-
eral of the Department of e-Government
in UAQ, said work will commence ac-
cording to the execution roadmap,
which includes establishing a unified
information center for UAQ and link-
ing departments to it via local network
in collaboration with service providers
working in this domain. To this end,
UAQ eGovernment will sequentially so-
licit bids as per the plan.
