His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin
Rashid Al Maktoum launched the Arab
Social Media Pioneers’ Summit last June
with the aim to shed light on major social
media initiatives in the Arab world. The
summit offers an annual award to hon-
or individual and corporate innovations
across a variety of sectors and social me-
dia platforms.
The award will honor 20 active categories
on social media sites including various ar-
eas and sectors, in addition to choosing
the most influential person of the year on
social media platforms in the Arab World.
The social media influencers’ forum will
be the first of its kind, bringing together
over 100 active and influential persons on
the Arab level across various social me-
dia sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram
and YouTube. This comes as part of the
first of their kind interactive sessions to
discuss major issues on these channels
and discuss the latest trends.
A number of global influential figures on
social media will be invited to the forum to
be informed about the best practices and
benefit from their experience in the field.
A series of sessions including key active
and influential figures on social media re-
gionally and internationally from across
various sectors will be held during the
summit. This will enable them to talk about
their experiences on social media and
shed light on the best practices and trends
on these channels.
The Arab social media report will provide
an outlook on the social media reality in
the Arab world through monitoring trends
and providing a detailed view of the use
of social media channels in different Arab
countries.
The summit will also support new projects
and initiatives on social media though the
Buzoor (Seeds) Initiative that will provide
a unique platform that brings together
business incubators and organizations
supporting startups along with young en-
trepreneurs on social media sites.
