His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salim bin
Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah,
has established the Sharjah 24 news web-
site, the first of its kind in the emirate of Shar-
jah. The website is a real-time news service.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, director
of Sharjah Media Center (SMC) said that the
Sharjah 24 news website comes in line with
Sharjah’s vision to upgrade its media con-
tents and products. The website should also
seek to take the emirate from local to global.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi said
Sharjah 24 will present a full-scale new pack-
age, where serious, unbiased and construc-
tive pieces of news are covered to address
and respect an equally serious audience.
The Ministry of Education said that
the Mohammed Bin Rashid Smart
Learning Program (MBRSLP) will
undergo a dramatic transformation
soon to include execution tech-
niques and supporting equipment,
teaching methodologies and all el-
ements to be linked to the innova-
tion strategies adopted by the gov-
ernment in theory and application.
The Ministry considered that in-
corporating the program since its
launch as one of the national edu-
cational projects made it the first
of its kind worldwide. This was
confirmed by major organizations
operating in information and ad-
vanced technologies associated
with the best teaching systems in
the world. Such organizations be-
lieved that the program applied by
the UAE is one of the national pro-
grams receiving direct support and
sponsorship from the state and
government.
The program has so far been in-
troduced in 124 schools in educa-
tional zones in Dubai, Sharjah and
Northern Emirates. The program
has been implemented in 35% of
total schools in these zones, reach-
ing 20% of target students.
In the presence of His Highness Sheikh
Rashid bin Saud bin RashidAl Mualla, Crown
Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain, Umm Al Quwain
e-Government signed an agreement with the
Ministry of Finance (MoF) and the National
Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), to implement the
e-Dirham system.
The agreement stipulates that all Umm Al
Quwain government agencies shall apply the
e-Dirham system so that the UmmAl Quwain
e-Government can now collect service fees
provided to the public, develop electronic
payment methods and discontinue manual
payment and cash collection processes.
NBAD’s role is to provide agencies with all
the necessary devices, programmes and
tools to use the e-Dirham system.
