Zakat Fund app increases awareness of
Zakat and revives this Islamic duty
The Zakat Fund app aims to increase
awareness of Zakat and establish the
concept of its effectiveness and impor-
tance of its role in the development field
on the individual and society levels. It
works to revive this duty in application
and practice for the benefit of the vari-
ous needy segments in accordance with
Shari’a principles, known as the “Zakat”
channels.
The Zakat Fund app provides its servic-
es on various smartphone platforms like
Android, iOS and BlackBerry. The app’s
home screen has three main categories
namely Respondents, Zakat Payers and
Eligible in addition to the Fund’s News
section that displays the latest news in
relation to Zakat Fund.
From the menu bar, users can access
app settings which enable users to
choose language, manage their profile,
subscribe to awareness services “Join
Us”, Contact Us, Favorite, Help, Reports
and Fund. Fund includes the Fund’s pro-
file, Media Gallery (audio gallery, video
gallery, identity media and image gal-
lery), Interviews, News and They Said
on Fund.
Under the Respondents category, users
can know more about Zakat, Fatawas on
Zakat (how to send Fatwa, most viewed
Fatwas, search for Fatwa), Individuals
Zakat (Zakat on gold, money, livestock,
silver, revenue yielding property, crops
and fruits and professional) and Zakat
shares and companies.
The Zakat Payers category includes
information for Zakat payment service
such as Zakat payment methods (SMS,
mobile, ATMs, online, direct payment
by visiting the Fund headquarters, bank
deposit and electronic services of banks
and major Zakat payers service); Pay
your Zakat through SMS or credit card.
The Eligible category includes Zakat re-
quests, such as Zakat request methods
and mercy request, tracking file status,
To Whom It May Concern certificates,
Zakat request e-application, Projects
which list Zakat related projects and re-
quired documents for each project and
request appointment to apply for Zakat
request.
