While participating in Patient Safety Middle
East, Dubai Hospital showcased its new pilot
program titled “Nursing Smart Program”. The
pilot program launched in the hospital’s blood
transfusion centre.
The program provides the blood transfusion
specialist with the complete medical condi-
tions of the patient who regularly visit the
centre. This allows easy access to diagnosis
and treatment at Dubai Hospital. The pro-
gram is valuable under the weekly shift sys-
tem for the blood centre’s specialists.
The program is highly practical in the sense
that it provides the blood bank with a weekly
list of the patients scheduled to receive treat-
ment. The data given include name of pa-
tient, number of health card, required blood
type and number of units so that the hospital
may properly put the order and ensure the
availability of the units. This should save
waiting time and render effective patient care
services.
