the user’s opinion. As a result many ad-
vanced technology companies choose to
issue an app beta version of their newly-
created application. The version is nor-
mally launched to test customers’ reviews
on the app to add adjustments, develop
it and releasing it in the market at a level
that meets customers’ ambitions.
In addition, Al Ali emphasized trust as one
of the essential standards for the success
of the app; therefore, developers of suc-
cessful apps minimize the app’s authori-
zation to access to unnecessary data in
order to maintain the privacy of the us-
ers. When the app requires specific pri-
vate data, those developers encode data
before sending them less being stolen or
misused.
One of the main reasons Arab apps are
not internationally spread is due to unsuc-
cessful marketing efforts. If international
app developers demonstrate successful
marketing strategies, it is then the turn
for Arab app developers to become more
successful and avoid attributing their un-
successful marketing efforts to the fame
and spread of international apps. Addi-
tionally, it is important that good marketing
is accompanied with the development of
high-professional apps in terms of innova-
tion and applicability.
Dr. Said Al Zaheri, an IT expert and aca-
demic, shares Al Ali the same opinion
about the reasons behind the gap be-
tween Arab apps and fame. Some of the
reasons he listed were that there is no
comprehensive marketing plan, in addi-
tion to limited target users due to apps
being programmed only in Arabic; unlike
international apps which use English – a
global language that addresses a huge
number of users.
Al Zaheri believes also that professional-
ism in design, graphical and visual effects,
and supporting apps with the interactive
feature of “user experience UX”, all this
plays a significant role in making the app
successful.
Al Zaheri asserted that testing the success
or failure of the app requires accurate, sci-
entific-based and documented statistics.
However, he believes that Arabic is part of
the reason why Arab smart apps have a
limited number of audience.
Al Zaheri defined a number of standards
that are effective in testing apps; among
them is focusing on ‘user experience UX’.
This would allow app developers to devel-
