“Aman” Smart App
Watchful Eye of Abu Dhabi Police
Abu Dhabi Police presented Aman ser-
vice which enables the police to receive
inquiries and reports on negative secu-
rity, social and traffic behaviors - in a safe
and confidential manner - through pass-
ing information confidentially via a smart
app that has been lately launched on all
types of smart phones by the Ministry of
Interior (MOI).
Major Dr. Hassan Juma’a bin Hamid Al
Zaabi, Information and Observation Cen-
ter Manager at the Federal Security In-
formation Department, asserted that the
smart app provides to the smart phone
user an instant electronic link to the con-
cerned bodies. This would make it easy
for him to receive police services with
one click on the smart applications.
Al Zaabi said that the incoming informa-
tion is normally passed to the concerned
employees in the police administrations,
departments and centers which, in their
turn, follow up and deal with the case. He
added that such confidential information
minimizes cases of law breaching and
helps the police to identify suspects of
different crimes.
Al Zaabi also stated that Aman receives
confidential information in English, Arabic
and Urdu, whether via calling on the free
number 8002626 or sending an SMS to
2828.
In regard to the aim of Aman service, Al
Zaabi clarified that it builds trust among
the community and let people feel safe
about police performance at all times
and in all conditions. He added that the
service is a step towards distinction,
achievement of the highest quality stan-
dards of institutional performance, and
the satisfaction of the public.
NTA to offer
Smart Services
by the end of
2014
The National Transport Authority (NTA) launch-
es, in both English and Arabic, 30 smart ser-
vices via android apps by the end of the current
year. These apps allow concerned people to get
their requests done easily and at any time, and
it saves time, money and effort for the govern-
ment.
The app provides commercial vessel services,
pleasure boat services, seamen affairs services,
employees services, land transport services and
dealers’ services.
NTA finished the second phase of the “Smart
Services App” which goes in line with the UAE’s
vision, as well as with the directives of His High-
ness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Mak-
toum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the
UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The UAE government
is planned to be a fully smart government.
