The Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Estab-
lishment has joined the MyID initiative in line
with Dubai Government’s bid to shift to smart
government.
This comes in the framework of implementing
the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Moham-
med Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President
and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of
Dubai, to shift from e-government to smart
government.
The MyID initiative, which was launched by
Dubai eGovernment and the Emirates Iden-
tity Authority, allows a customer to login to all
electronic interfaces of Dubai government
departments through a single PIN instead
of using different accounts and repeatedly
logging in to Dubai Government’s electronic
interfaces. By registering in MyID service,
a customer can access all the websites of
government departments and move from
one site to another by a single sign-on (user
name and password).
Dubai will host the 4th GCC Municipali-

Al Arab Hotel in the presence of digni-
taries, officials and decision-makers in
government and private organizations
and regional and international mass
media.
The conference will discuss such
themes as the modern strategic plan-
ning of smart infrastructure, sustainable
strategy and solutions for smart man-
agement of cities in support of the ambi-
tious future visions of top GCC leader-
ships.
The conference will also provide ultra-
quality solutions in the services sec-
tor with the aim of providing innovative
technologies to protect GCC citizens
and support their well-being through re-
viewing the latest knowledge manage-
ment mechanisms and global planning
systems.
In addition, the conference will discuss
the best achievements of municipalities
and city planning institutions in the fields
of modern administrative and tech-
nological structural development, city
management and the services based
on modern information grounds to keep
pace with global competitiveness rates.
The Emirates Identity Authority has made
available a “geolocation” feature for identify-
ing the geographical location of its affiliated
service centers across the UAE through the
Google Maps app on smart devices. The bid
is aimed at helping customers access the
Emirates ID’s centers easily and smoothly.
The Emirates ID affirmed that the geoloca-
tion feature enables customers to identify
the nearest service center and the time of
arrival via the shortest route. To use this
feature, a customer needs to access the
service centers page on the Emirates ID’s
website via their smart phones, select the
required center and then click on the ‘Get
Directions’ link to directly get the required lo-
cation through Google Maps and follow the
route leading to it, the Emirates ID said.
