The Telecommunications Regulatory Au-
thority (TRA) had classified the Ministry
of Public Works under the category of
“Outstanding”, where it had achieved the
full mark in the commitment to applying
the standards of e-transformation criteria.
The ministry offers about 23 electronic
and smart service for its customers, real-
izing 100 percent e-readiness by the be-
ginning of the current year.
MoPW’s website is an official reference
to all information related to the ministry,
an interactive channel of communication
with all members of society, and a source
of acquaintance for all its projects and
services in the field of construction and
infrastructure.
MoPW is keen to provide electronic ser-
vices that simplifies users’ procedures,
and strives to diversify the channels of
communication with them 24/7 through
its website which provides several infor-
mation and interactive services to the
users. Its “Blog” also contributes to the
diversification of channels of communi-
cation.
The ministry’s website allows users to
subscribe and make payments through
the e-payment gateway of the Ministry
of Finance, which is unified for the fed-
eral entities, using the e-Dirham or credit
cards.
Through MoPW’s website, users can ap-
ply for the e-services through their smart
phones without the need to download
any application.
The ministry’s website is compatible with
various smart phone platforms and de-
signed according to the latest technol-
ogy (Metro Design). Users do not need to
register in order to use of information the
services provided by the ministry, includ-
ing: Ask MOPW, Contact H.E the minister
and the free informative services.
The site facilitates for individuals to com-
municate with the ministry to ensure pro-
viding the best service to the users, and
the service “Blog” allows the opportunity
for individuals and users to express their
remarks about the different topics intro-
duced by the ministry.
One of the smart services offered by
MoPW is the Spatial Smart Services
System (i4s), which provides interactive
electronic smart solutions based on geo-
graphic databases “GIS” linking all gov-
ernment agencies with smart systems
and common database.
The project will provide electronic interac-
tive smart solutions based on geographi-
cal databases linking all government
agencies with smart systems and com-
mon databases which will help develop-
ing smart applications aimed at providing
an interactive platform to deal with the
various types of queries and completion
of transactions. The smart services pro-
vided by various government agencies
will be linked to geographical location
offering various services to the public,
in addition to providing spatial informa-
tion, data and statistics necessary for
decision-makers that will result in having
a precise automatically updated mecha-
nism to set and develop strategic plans
for the different governmental organiza-
tions.
The system is the second generation of
the comprehensive plan project that was
achieved by the ministry, embodied in
creating a unified geographic information
system for the various buildings and gov-
ernment facilities in order to determine
the future needs of infrastructure projects
towards achieving sustainable develop-
ment.
The project provides personal services to
the public that will ensure enhancing their
lifestyle, such as providing navigational
information to drivers about traffic jams
and alternative routes, opening files for
clinics, hospitals, early warning in case of
emergency and natural disasters, locat-
ing the nearest schools available in the
area, students school’s enrollment and
many other services.
