The space sector is new and complicated
for the Arab region. Therefore, EIAST has
a major role in promoting its concepts to
the young people, which it already does
by exerting much effort to raise awareness
and educate the youth about it.
EIAST contributes in education and com-
munity teaching, hence, it hosts visits
from schools, institutes and universities,
local and from outside the country, or pays
visits to such places. Students get the op-
portunity to see the systems first hand to
benefit from such expertise.
We offer our programs to everyone with
the aim for all communities to benefit from
them.
Does EIAST intend to benefit from
smartphone apps to educate society
about the outer space technology?
EIAST is currently developing a smart app
to educate society about EIAST services,
but we want an international smart app
that covers all aspects of concern to EI-
AST in an attractive and exciting way. We
are even supplying it with smart games for
kids to draw attention of this future gen-
eration and connect them to EIAST. We
will indeed supply the app with modern
images and fresh data.
What are the services that the smart
app launched by EIAST will offer?
Our smart app will present information
about the history of EIAST and its services
and how to access such services. There
are also services that will target the young
generations so that they may know about
the role of satellites in an entertaining and
exciting way through electronic games
and riddles. This should encourage them
to know more about outer space. The app
is expected to be released by the end of
this year.
In light of current technology advance-
ments, can ordinary people reach outer
space through a simple app on their
smart phone?
Space programs are no longer a type of
luxury, but have become a necessity and
benchmark to measure a country’s devel-
opment.
Now, we are in dire need of all the services
offered by spaceships as their research
can be part of various aspects of life even
the simplest aspects such as GPS, which
relies on satellite images.
The smart government also relies on the
services offered by satellites such as im-
ages, location based service or weather
notifications.
We have made such images available
through the smart apps of entities with
which we have entered into strategic
partnerships. It
is a service that
saved much in-
formation, time,
effort and money
for researchers.
We are considering offering
satellite technology servic-
es through smart apps
