His Highness stressed the importance of
maintaining constant communication with
the audience on social media channels.
“Social media has become today the most
influential media channel in initiating inter-
action with and reaching out to the public
as well as engaging the public in develop-
ment initiatives and plans at the local, re-
gional and international levels,” he added.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed also ex-
tended his thanks and appreciation to all
his followers on all his social media chan-
nels for their interaction and response to
the charity and development initiatives
launched on social media. “Each idea,
suggestion or opinion renders the audi-
ence true partners and active drivers in the
success of their humanitarian, social and
economic endeavors at the local, regional
and international levels,” he stressed.
Sheikh Mohammed is keen on diversify-
ing topics, ideas and issues raised and
initiatives launched by him which are hu-
manitarian, economic, social and cultural
in nature. He requests the audience par-
ticipation through social media. His audi-
ence includes people from different back-
grounds.
He uses various social media channels to
express personal views, philosophy and
reflect on his experience as a leader and a
human to funnel positive energy to people
urging them to employ this energy to bet-
ter serve their community.
In 2014, His Highness started using vi-
sual means on his social media chan-
nels including images and graphs. This
trend was widely received with positive
response from the audience on Twitter,
Facebook and Google+.
In 2014, His Highness also launched sev-
eral initiatives through social media. One
such initiative was “UAE Water Aid” in
the month of Ramadan. Another one was
launching the Twitter hashtag ‘Thank-you
Khalifa’ (in Arabic) in recognition and ap-
preciation of UAE President His Highness
Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The
success of those initiatives was over-
whelming.
In 2013, Sheikh Mohammed took to social
media to ask followers to join a brainstorm-
ing session. There were more
than 83,000 suggested
ideas
including
ideas from
Arab countries that were taken into ac-
count and some were even implemented.
His Highness continues to use social
media to keep nationals and residents
updates on the results, decisions and ini-
tiatives of the Cabinet meetings and their
impact on their lives. He aims to increase
their awareness and urge their active par-
ticipation in what goes on around then.
He also recognizes the importance of the
community in implementing decisions and
the success of initiatives resulting from
the Cabinet meetings.
His Highness is followed by people from
different nationalities on Twitter, Face-
book, Google+ and Instagram fromArabs,
Europeans, Latin Americans, Africans,

pan. The largest group of followers comes
from the Arab World; UAE tops his follow-
ers with 43% followed by Saudi Arabia,
