The Culture Without Borders project aims
to establish a library in every home and pro-
vide UAE families with a valuable selection of
books. The projects aims to launch an e-library
that supports its efforts in promoting reading
and provides UAE families with the opportunity
of reading e-books along with printed books
provided by the project as part of home librar-
ies for the emirate residents.
The e-library launch is considered a new trend
for the project through which it seeks to provide
an additional method to enjoy reading through
a careful selection of books. The selection cov-
ers history, heritage, science and literature and
includes children books and stories.
For this e-library, the project chose the best ap-
plication in the market in the field of e-books
so that books may remain means of attraction
for readers. Readers of books available in the
project’s e-library can benefit from many fea-
tures that encourage reading and research, in-
cluding enlarging and coloring fonts, copying,
search and translation of words.
The Ministry of Interior Child Protection Centre’s
(MoICPC) Facebook page was verified to be on
the top list of recommended pages and the first
government organization to achieve such recogni-
tion in the Middle East and North Africa.
This step should attract more people to visit the
page, raise awareness about child protection and
ensure their safety. Major General Nasser Lakhre-
bani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of
the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior
pointed out that the Ministry has strived to devel-
op communication and interaction levels with the
public through social networks, including Face-
book, to enhance protection and care for society
members, particularly children.
Meanwhile, Lt Col Faisal Mohammad Al Sham-
mari, Director of the Ministry of Interior’s Child
Protection Centre, said that such verification will
authenticate the identity of the account and en-
able people to confirm the identity of the organiza-
tions they interact with on their Facebook pages.
The awarded blue badge will allow people to find
MoICPC more quickly and differentiate it from
other fake accounts.
