Sheikh Khalifa ordered renaming of the
‘Emirates Government Excellence Award’
to ‘Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Govern-
ment Excellence Award’ as a tribute to the
outstanding role played by His Highness
Sheikh Mohammed in leading the govern-
ment’s work. His Highness the President
said: “All the appreciation to Mohammed
bin Rashid for what he has done and still
does to serve our nation. Excellence is at-
tributed to him and grows by him”.
“We welcome this occasion for honoring
the distinguished and talented Emirati citi-
zens for their achievements. I thank those
who exert efforts in service and develop-
ment of the country,” the President added.
Meanwhile, His Highness Sheikh Moham-
med bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized
that the allocation of this year’s excellence
ceremony to celebrate the exceptional
leadership skills exhibited by His High-
ness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan
comes to uphold the unique leadership
values of the President in all our ministries
and federal agencies.
Sheikh Mohammed congratulated all the
winning individuals and corporates who
dedicated their efforts to improve the level
of services provided by their respective
entities, saying: “The top achievers are
tomorrow’s leaders. Our future is promis-
ing because of them, as they will build our
country”.
“Eight years ago when I became head of
the Cabinet, some were skeptical about
the ability of federal government to de-
velop the country. I heard a lot about this
doubt, but only met them with a smile, as
we were seeing promising cadres with
huge capacities and opportunity to make
all the people happy,” he added.
Sheikh Mohammed said: “what has been
achieved so far was the result of perse-
verance, self-denial and allegiance to the
UAE. It was the course outlined by the
founding fathers of the UAE, a legacy be-
ing followed by my brother Sheikh Khalifa
bin Zayed and supported by the Cabinet
through continuous engaging of Emiratis
to pursue the development with tenacity
and efficiency to continue the march on
the excellence track that has no finish line
and realize happiness of their people and
prosperity of their nation. This is what we
strive to achieve in our current and future
march towards materializing our national
vision 2021”.
Sheikh Mohammed’s statements came
while attending and sponsoring the cer-
emony to honor winners of the 3rd edition
of the ‘Mohammed bin Rashid Govern-
ment Excellence Award’ in presence of a
number of Sheikhs, ministers, senior offi-
cials in the country in addition to a host of
guests and invitees as well as more than
1200 government officials representing
federal and local agencies.
Sheikh Mohammed honored the winners
in the 3rd edition of the Sheikh Khalifa
Government Excellence Programme and
presented the awards to the winning min-
istries and agencies that were chosen af-
ter a neutral and transparent evaluation
process involved 493 applications from 38
federal entities, of which 15 ministries and
23 federal agencies.
