Mohammed bin Rashid’s
Smart Learning Programme, a breakthrough
changing the face of education in the UAE
The current academic year started with
applying smart learning mechanisms
with the launch of the first application
stage of the Mohammed bin Rashid’s
Smart Learning programme in 123 pub-
lic schools in the UAE.
This programme, one of the UAE’s
pioneering projects, seeks to provide
better levels of education for the new
generation to raise the standard of the
country, contribute to its development
and prosperity as well as help find a
firm ground to its innovative knowl
-
edgeable people who hold on to their
cultural heritage and civilization.
This programme is connected to the
UAE Vision 2021 and the Ministry of
Education’s efforts to develop the edu-
cational system in the UAE.
The Programme gives the students the
chance to enter the world of smart digi-
tal applications and avoids the common
traditional forms of textbooks to convert
the educational process into a lively in-
teractive experience.
Currently, 123 schools around the UAE
apply the Smart Learning Programme
on 11,402 students. 9963students are
in the 7th grade, 1,439 in the 8th grade
who went through the pilot phase of
the programme last year. 1,343 teach-
ers were trained prior to the academic
year in order to prepare them for smart
learning techniques.
The Smart Learning Programme has
prepared 434 classes by providing
11,402 tablets for students and 1,343
Laptops for teachers.
This effort is done in collaboration with
partners representing global compa-
nies such as Microsoft, HP, Samsung
and IT Works.
Parallel to using Smart Learning ap-
plications inside the classrooms, the
programme sets the bases for cooper-
ation and coordination with specialized
bodies in order to ensure a successful
launch at all levels.
Within this frame, the programme has
contracted an agreement with Micro-
soft to provide a series of programmes
and training and guidance sessions for
teachers, schools and students. This
cooperation enables benefiting from
Microsoft’s expertise and technologies,
especially in the area of training which
will benefit more than 1,000 teachers.
