The Ministry of Interior has
launched 169 electronic services
via its website and 30 mServices
in line with the guidelines of His
Highness Sheikh Mohammed
bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice
President and Prime Minister of
the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and
under continuous supervision of
Lieutenant General H.H. Sheikh
Saif bin ZayedAl Nahyan, Deputy
Prime Minister and Minister of In-
terior.
The Ministry of Interior has
launched its platform for all
types of smart phones; iOS, An-
droid, Blackberry, and Windows
Phones. It is characterized by
several direct advantages for e-
linking with partners such as ve-
hicle inspection and insurance
companies, in addition to integra-
tion with the Ministry’s website
and the unification of the user
name and password in order to
obtain data via any channel. The
user registers only once through
the website or smart phones to
use the Ministry’s services via all
communication channels.
Major General Ahmed Nasser Al
Raisi, Director General of Central
Operations at Abu Dhabi Police,
has asserted the significance of
this transformation in line with the
developments that occur in the IT
world in order to facilitate public
access to information anytime
and anywhere.
Major General Al Raisi also con-
firmed that the Ministry seeks to
automate its 399 services by the
end of this year whether through
smart phones or the Ministry’s
website in addition to the auto-
mated response services and in-
teractive messaging system pro-
vided by the telecom companies.
He also pointed that a smart ap-
plication centre administered by
a highly qualified team of Emirati
citizens in the Ministry of Interior
is in charge of all electronic proce-
dures related to the services and
responding to public inquiries.
The UAE Ministry of Education
and Emirates Telecommunica-
tion Corporation “Etisalat”, have
launched “Dorousy” project, the
first of its kind in the field of e-
Learning.
This project aims at providing on-
line academic curricula for grades
11and 12 to enable students to
follow their courses whenever
and wherever they are through
various communication means in-
cluding YouTube.
The Ministry of Education Un-
dersecretary Marwan Al Sawaleh
has demonstrated that the Min-
istry works hard to elevate the
level of schools through the Ed-
ucation Development Strategy
2010/2020. It recognizes the im-
portance of enabling UAE citizens
to use the tools of this age and
the language of the future which
is based in its essence on more
developed means for learning and
teaching.
He also adds that the project “Dor-
ousy” in its idea and content is in
line with the guidance and goals
of the Ministry and its keenness to
invest the latest technologies. It
also copes with the developments
taking place in schools as well as
the initiatives and programmes,
aiming at providing smart educa-
tional services according to the
highest quality and distinction
standards.
The project is an initial step to-
wards making smart leaning a re-
ality, and it is nothing but a start.
“Etisalat” always seeks providing
innovative solutions that contrib-
ute to the development of different
sectors.
The number of subscribers
reached 17,000 thousand in the
first week of the non-official launch
of the project on YouTube. More-
over, the number of views has
exceeded 35,000. The channel
includes more than 500 hours of
lessons in various subjects from
11th and 12th grades curricula.
