9.3 Billion mobile phone subscriptions in 2019
The latest Mobility Report of the Swedish company Ericsson revealed
that mobile subscriptions are expected to reach 9.3 billion by 2019, and
more than 60 percent of these - 5.6 billion - will be for smart phones.

casted to account for more than 50 percent of global mobile traffic,
while web browsing and social networking each constitute around 10

300 Million “Line” Users
The number of registered users of the instant messaging service ‘Line’
exceeded 300 million.
This came a month after the Japanese company, which introduced the
service, has announced registering 200 million users. It stated that it
took the company only 6 months to increase its users to 200 million
from 100 million, and 4 months between 200 million and more than 300
million users.
70% of Snapchat users are Women
Roughly 70% of Snapchat users are women, said Co-founder and CEO
of the messaging app, Evan Spiegel.
Spiegel clarified that Snapchat users are sending 400 million “snaps”
a day on the service, where messages disappear after a few seconds.
He said half of Snapchat’s users have tried out “stories,” a feature the
company recently introduced.
350 Million Active Users on ‘WhatsApp’
The instant messaging service ‘WhatsApp’ now has 350 million monthly
active users. It also has 27 billion inbound and outbound messages sent
in a single day.
