mGovernment Magazine - Issue 2 - page 37

Through its mPay app, Dubai Smart
Government seeks to bring more
ease and convenience to users, par-
ticularly in situations where users
have to make emergency payment of
fines or fees for a continued service
or charges to avoid a new fine.
The free app allows users to pay
their bills to 4 government entities in
Dubai within few minutes, in one step
and through a new innovative meth-
od that adds a value to customers by
saving their time and efforts.
It is available on Apple app store for
iPhone users and on Google Play for
Android devices users.
mPay is designed to be an easy-to-
use reliable and secure app that can
be used through limited steps offer-
ing more ease and convenience to
users.
The importance of the app is that it
combined in its first phase the most
used services and proved the ability
of Dubai government departments to
integrate their services.
The 4 government entities using
the app are: Dubai Police, Dubai
Road and Transport Authority (RTA),
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority
(DEWA) and Etisalat.
To use the service, users can register
with their credit card details in mPay,
which can be easily downloaded on
any smart phone.
mPay also allows auto payment
through which users can authorize
the app to pay their bills on specific
dates. The auto payment can be set
up in few minutes.
Recently, the mPay service had
been completely restructured to be
compatible with Smartphone require-
ments in terms of speed and smooth
provision and use of services. As
soon as the app is downloaded,
customers can avail a distinguished
package of services. They can use
it for payment of DEWA bills, Dubai
Police fines, top up Salik and Nol in
addition to 5 Etisalat services. So
a customer can choose to pay any
or all of Etisalat’s services such as
GSM, broadband, eVision, Dial-up
internet and landline.
As many as 13,000 iPhone and An-
droid users have downloaded the
application since it was launched in
November last year, a rate of 42 sub
-
scriptions a day.
Since the beginning of the year, the
app has had nearly 53,000 transac-
tions and over 26,000 users, prompt-
ing Dubai Smart Government to in-
troduce updates to the application to
meet customers’ requirements.
