Dubai Police announced that it started using a new mo-
bile app that records the arrival and departure of its em-
ployees using their smartphones, without the need to
sign at the work place.
The app comes as part of the ongoing efforts made by
the General Department of Smart Services in collabora-
tion with the key general departments in Dubai Police.
The mobile app allows employees, military and civilians,
to register their arrival to and departure from work eas-
ily and conveniently. The smart attendance software in-
stalled on phones is a sophisticated way to help Dubai
police officers and staff members to register their atten-
dance without the need to sign their names. It records
the time of their arrival to the workplace, and identifies
the number of attendance hours, and the places they
went to on any external missions.
The new app runs on iOS and Android and relies on the
employee’s geographical location. Upon arriving to and
leaving work, attendance and departure are instantly
registered. The app also sends motivational notifications
to the employee in the event of arriving early to or leaving
late from work.
ETECHAN, an Emirati firm that focuses, an Emirati educa-
tional and cultural smart applications developer, has created
for the first time an innovative digital application ‘Modhesh 3D
Application’ that helps children create their own 3D drawings
of Modhesh inside Modhesh World.
The app enables kids draw an action picture of Modhesh de-
picting Modhesh enjoying an activity of kids’ choice, such as
swimming, playing soccer, flying a plane, etc., then apply it
on a 3D program to control the movements as in animations.
The Modhesh 3D Application targets children aged between
3 and 8 years and gives them the one-of-a-kind opportunity
to experience the virtual world of enhanced reality using their
imaginations. The “Modhesh Smart Application” zone is locat-
ed in Hall 7 of Modhesh World.
It is a fun and engaging activity that gives their creativity a
solid boost as they control various movements of Modhesh
when he swims, plays a sport or flies a plane. This also helps
children get interested in innovation and gets them excited
about developing and inventing such applications in the fu-
ture,” he added.
The app helps kids draw a picture then use the drawing to
create a simple animation. The drawing is uploaded on
ETECHAN’s ‘Modhesh 3D Application’ that transforms these
hand-drawn pictures into 3D representations that allow kids to
control the movements of Modhesh.
“Modhesh World” presents this app as part of its keenness on
staying up-to-date with the latest modern technologies that
bring fun and learning to children, and transform the way they
are thinking and interact with technology and fun content.
In this year’s edition, “Modhesh World” adopted an assort-
ment of technology-based initiatives that combine fun and
learning for children, develop their skills and encourage posi-
tive thinking for children of all ages participating in the activi-
ties. This year’s edition is held under the theme ‘Every step is
a new adventure’.
