In only less than a month of its launch, Microsoft announced

that more than 75 million devices worldwide are now running

Windows 10, the latest Microsoft operating system (OS).

Windows 10 launched in 190 countries on July 29 2015, as

a free upgrade to Windows 7 & 8. Microsoft said that there

were 14 million installs within just 24 hours of its release.

Microsoft said its goal was to have Windows 10 on 1

billion devices by 2018. Windows today is used by

more than 1.5 billion users worldwide, mostly on

PCs.

Windows 10 aims to fix the errors made by

Microsoft in its previous version Windows 8,

which was not popular enough either for

individual or business users.

«Yolk Solar Paper»

a solar charger

Korean designer SungWon Chang developed

Yolk Solar Paper, which she called the world’s

thinnest and lightest solar charger. The project

was launched on Kickstarter.

Solar Paper measures just 9 x 19 cm, and is

only 1.5 mm thick, almost as thin as a paper.

It panel weighs only 50 gm. It can easily be

tucked away inside a notebook or clip it to a

backpack.

Solar Paper offers several solar panels, each

panel with 2.5 watt. Panels can be connected

together through their magnetic edges to in-

crease wattage.

In bright sunlight, the two panels can fully

charge an iPhone 6 in about 2.5 hours, and

5 hours on a cloudy day. iPads need four so-

lar panels, i.e. a 10 watt charger to be fully

charged in about 4.5 hours.
