UAE Government “The 21st Century Leader”
programme encourages innovation and keeping
pace with rapid global changes
On its YouTube Channel, the UAE Gov
posted a video from the Government of
Dubai Media Office, in which His High-
ness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid
Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime
Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,
has launched the UAE Government pro-
gramme, “The Leader of the 21st Cen-
tury’ model”.
The capacity building programme seeks
to build effective networking between
government leaders and strengthen re-
lations with the private sector.
The UAE Government Leaders Pro-
gramme aims to attract talents from both
public and private sectors and provide
best training opportunities for develop-
ing leadership skills through launch-
ing of ‘The Leader of the 21st Century’
model. The new leadership model aims
to take the leadership skills of officials
at the federal government to the next
level by strengthening the skills of the
most promising young leaders. They will
be provided extensive leadership train-
ing to hone their expertise and prepare
them to evolve as distinguished leaders
at the national, regional and global lev-
els.
Sheikh Mohammed said: “The Leader of
the 21st Century model which we have
launched today marks a new phase
in building distinct national capacities
based on innovation and knowledge to
serve our people and strengthen the po-
sition of our nation at the global level”.
“I believe in modernization and devel-
opment across technological, scientific,
economic fields as well as other areas.
This is imperative to keep pace with and
anticipate rapid global changes, and to
ensure that we continue to be at the fore-
front of the global economy,” he said.
Talking about his belief in the youth of
the nation and their abilities, Sheikh Mo-
hammed said: “They are our renewable
wealth, and building their skills is a fun-
damental priority of our nation. We must
prepare our youth for the future and give
them the tools that will enable them to
proceed ahead with success, and build
a better future for the UAE people”.
Sheikh Mohammed added that the
“Leader of the 21st Century” is excep-
tional, and capable of keeping pace and
even staying ahead of rapid changes.
This leader is able to put effective so-
lutions to challenges he/she faces. The
leader is flexible, creative and innova-
tive. The leader encourages his/her
team to try new experiences.
‘The Leader of the 21st Century’ model
has been inspired by the leadership of
Sheikh Mohammed, who has set an ex-
ample to the world in government lead-
ership. A clear vision and an ambitious
approach to build a smart future govern-
ment led by innovation and excellence
are at the heart of the model.
