The mark signifies that the products are manufactured in factories that implement an effective quality management system and apply comprehensive quality assurance procedures, such as factory audits. It is a mark of confidence and gives products a competitive advantage. It raises consumer confidence facilitates exports to major regional and international markets.

To motivate manufacturers in the UAE to obtain the Emirates Quality Mark, the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology is providing a 50% discount on the mark's fees providing the manufacturer holds an industrial production license. The Ministry is also supporting small- and medium-sized businesses by exempting them from the mark's licensing fees during the first cycle of product licensing.
