Consultation Subject:

The Ministry of Interior invites the public to share opinions on awareness of traffic safety for electric scooter users.

The objective of consultation:

Through this consultation, the Ministry of Interior aims to have all opinions and suggestions about enhancing traffic awareness among this category, by  adhering to and following the necessary instructions and guidelines of road safety for the sake of safety and security of users.

Expected decisions as a result of consultation:

Launching awareness messages and campaigns targeting electric bike users, to ensure their safety on the roads, and urging them to abide by traffic instructions and laws and to respect the road and motorists.

Outcome

Launching a traffic campaign under the slogan "Traffic safety of electric scooter users", with the aim of enhancing traffic awareness among this category, by  adhering to and following the necessary instructions and guidelines of road safety for the sake of safety and security for users.

The initiative is part of a series of traffic initiatives and campaigns that were launched early in 2022. It aims to send awareness messages to users of electric bikes to ensure their safety on the roads, and urge them to abide by traffic laws related to riding .

The campaign calls for riding the electric bikes "scooters" on their  designated paths, wearing helmets, knee bumpers and reflective clothing (phosphorescent), especially while driving at night as well as adhering to safety instructions, prevention requirements and regulations for such vehicles all over  the emirates.
