The leadership of Zayed University (ZU) and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library (MBRL) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) recently, which will provide Zayed University students with access to the largest library in the Middle East. Commenting on the new partnership, H.E. Noura al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth and chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed University, said: "The Mohammed bin Rashid Library's mission is to stimulate a passion for knowledge, and this is a value and ambition which we at Zayed University share. This new agreement provides our students with access to a truly world class resource and more importantly infinite access to knowledge. We look forward to working together closely with our new partners to support and encourage reading, research, creativity and entrepreneurship, as we seek to supercharge the next generation of graduates." The MoU was signed by H.E. Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, and Chair of Zayed University's Board of Trustees, and H.E. Mohammed Ahmad Mohammad Al Murr, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, in the presence of ZU students and several senior officials from both sides. In addition to providing students with access to the state-of-the art-facilities, services and resources. The MoU also lays the foundations for future collaborative initiatives such as research projects, student internships, training, and volunteer work. The library will also house research papers published by Zayed University. Additionally, the two institutions will work together on joint endeavours to promote scientific research, culture and knowledge across the UAE. The agreement is a milestone in consolidating cooperation among cultural and academic institutions. Our goal is to prepare future generations for the knowledge-based economy, a task we are poised to achieve with excellence with the rich collection and advanced facilities MBRL has. We are home to over a million titles of paper, digital, audio and video books covering practically every domain in several languages. Students from Zayed University will get access to these amazing resources, as well as a productive and supportive learning environment at the Library," explained H.E. Al Murr. "We are keen to enhance joint cooperation with scientific and academic research institutions and public and private universities to create distinctive channels for knowledge exchange across all fields and disciplines. Thus, we aim to advance the knowledge and research aspect of our students and academics, and provide fruitful opportunities and a promising future to support the comprehensive development process and the competitive knowledge economy." Al Murr added. The agreement further showcases Zayed University's focus on harnessing and establishing partnerships with leading organisations across government, industry, academia and cultural institutions as it implements its pioneering transformation strategy.
