These values of moderation and inclusion have been ingrained in the UAE's DNA since the country's founding in 1971 by HH the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the First President of the Country. Since then, tolerance has been the Nation’s style of life and leadership to reach its strategic goal being happy cohesion among people of all faiths and races living within its cosmopolitan community. Indeed, it has developed into a national brand par excellence. The UAE and its leadership and people provide the world with outstanding model of who one land can be a melting pot of tolerance, cohesion, respect and acceptance of others, which is one of the core values of the UAE society, derived from Islam. Such approach is at the heart of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments’ mandate. Based on this vision, GAIAE seeks to help and empower the UAE nationals to assume their responsibility towards prompting the culture of moderation and inclusion by developing its Center of Ifta’a (Islamic Jurisprudence) and the development of its educational curriculums.
Our goal is to refurbish concepts bringing them back to their original roots that made Islam win the battle for hearts and minds through ethical education and balanced tolerance with the others. We are working to regain the humanitarianism and realism of the religious rhetoric; support the spirit of peace, love and goodwill among human beings; promote the values of citizenship; and disseminate the concept of moderation based on the holy texts of Quran and Prophet Tradition.
