Protection of the environment is a humanitarian act… our leaders confirm this

Recently, H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and H. H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi were surveying a land for a construction project when they spotted a houbara bustard, an endangered bird, laying eggs near the project site.

Touched by this miracle of nature, both Sheikhs, ordered the project’s location to be moved to another area so that the eggs could hatch. However, this is not the first time the UAE’s leaders have done something to protect and preserve nature. The UAE has launched umpteen number of projects, laws, initiatives and campaigns to conserve nature. You can read all about it in the Environment and Energy section of this portal.

The video of 'rescue mission' as termed by the media was posted on the official account of Lieutenant-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. It has garnered almost 40,000 views at the time of publishing this post and won the hearts of environmentalists, animal-lovers and all citizens who praised the leaders for putting living beings before commercial benefits.
