Driven by a comprehensive strategic vision that addresses all vital sectors, strategic planning plays a fundamental role in strengthening the UAE's position among developed nations. In line with this vision, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), in partnership with the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre and local health and statistical authorities, has launched the National Health and Nutrition Survey 2024 to improve public health and enhance the quality of life for all residents in the country

Health Data Collection

The data gathered from the health and nutrition survey will form a foundation for future health policy development. The survey targets 20,000 citizen and resident families, as well as 2,000 individuals from worker accommodations. The targeted groups include adults over 18 years old, women aged 15 to 49, pregnant women, and children aged one to 17. Such an extensive sample will provide accurate insights into the health and nutritional status of the population

Strengthening Health Planning Strategies

The campaign aims to update and reinforce the health database to support decision-makers and enhance national health planning and policy strategies. Aligned with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, it will gather reliable and current data

Health indicators covered in the survey include household health expenditures, the prevalence of noncommunicable diseases, biophysical measurements, access to healthcare, and air pollution indicators. Nutritional indicators include micronutrient deficiencies, dietary intake, child development, urinary iodine and sodium levels, anaemia in pregnant women, and salt intake

Transparency and Data Protection

The Ministry is committed to safeguarding the confidentiality of the data from individuals and families participating in the campaign. All collected data will be used exclusively for statistical purposes, ensuring the protection of personal information

Campaign Success

The campaign's success hings on community cooperation with field survey teams. All participants are urged to fully support the field teams in collecting necessary health data, as this collective effort will enable us to improve health services and enhance the quality of life across the nation
