The organizing committee of the Arab

Social Media Influencers Summit held

for the first time in Dubai in March 2015

under the patronage of His Highness

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Mak-

toum, UAE Vice-President and Prime

Minister and Ruler of Dubai, announced

that the summit had over quarter a bil-

lion contributions worldwide on social

media. Thus, the event was among the

top trending topics in the region and the

world through the discussions about the

summit on various social media sites.

This number indicates the great attention

the summit received from social media

users in the region and the world as well

as in other mainstream media, which was

keen to cover the summit, its agenda and

feedback from the public.

ing globally while the summit was taking

place. This contributed significantly in

The organizing committee thanked

various local and regional media chan-

nels that contributed in news coverage

amounting to over 800 local and regional

coverages, and rendering the event one

of the most prominent events on the me-

dia scene while taking place.

Following these significant statistics about

growing coverage of the summit on social

media and mainstream media channels,

the summit succeeded in achieving more

than 80,000 results on search engines.

This shows that social media users and

activists have positively perceived this

summit, which has no doubt filled a gap

in the field.

The organizing committee mentioned

that the summit’s website was visited

over 3 million times to view the summit

agenda, details of the speakers and de-

tails of the first edition of the social media

award, in addition to registration to attend

the summit.

The large number of visits over a short

period of time has drawn the attention of

social media specialists and enhanced

the impact of the summit in exploring the
