The mGovernment Centre of Digital Innovation (CoDI) is a ma-

jor milestone on the mGov roadmap. It provides the mGov Lab

that performs all the testing necessary to ensure the security

and quality of mobile apps developed by government and aca-

demic organizations throughout the UAE.

The mGov Lab also checks for potential security gaps in apps

and makes sure they are operationally compatible with major

international platforms such as iOS, Android and such.

Each mobile app passes through a multi-stage testing before

being approved into the UAE government app store. Apps are

tested for potential malware, making sure they are perfectly

secure and safe by conducting hacking mockups.

These thorough measures aim to protect data and user pri-

vacy against any form of leakage. Smart systems are adopted

and run by a specialized Emirati team, who

is fully capable and aware of all stages and

aspects of app development and use mech-

anisms.

After completing all required testing, the mo-

bile app shall be included on the UAE gov-

ernment app store, found on Apple Store

and Google Play.

During

his

speech at the Arab

Social Media Influenc-

ers Summit (ASMIS) recently

held in Dubai, Sheikh Majed Al Sa-

bah, CEO at 360, Founder of TFK and a

key Arab influencer on Snapchat, urged

responsible and positive contributions on

social networking sites.

Al-Sabah recounted how he started using

Snapchat when one of his friends sent him

a photo and decided to share it with oth-

ers. For him, this photo marked the con-

tribution of positive content that benefits

followers on social media sites.

He said he decided to use the site to com-

municate with his children, sharing knowl-

edge and information of interest to them

through the site that lacked useful infor-

mation of interest to Arabs. Soon after, he

was documenting his travels and trips by

noting down information and taking pic-

tures he believes will be useful to others.

Sheikh Majed continued saying that

through his trips, he tried to offer additional

details to encourage people to read and

know more about nutrition, food, places,

fashion and other interesting topics.

During the session entitled “Global on

Snapchat”, Sheikh Majed Al-Sabah said

that H.E. Mohammad Al Gergawi called

him to inform him he was chosen to par-

ticipate in the summit. At the time of the

call, he was having a haircut at the bar-

ber’s shop!
