Hamad Al Mansoori: TRA honors mGov contest and smart app award winners
The mGovernmen
is not unilateral but a platform open to contributions
The Telecommunications Regulatory
Authority (TRA) honored the winners in
mGov’s monthly contest, the monthly pub-
lication sponsored by TRA. The TRA also
honored winners in the Smart App Award
competition.
These contests, which usually get a large
number of respondents, constitute key
opinion polls. They help determine public
interaction with the mGovernment initia-
tive, their access to mGov, feedback and
benefit from the smart services provided
by the TRA’s app.
The mGov publication aims to increase
awareness of the mGovernment initia-
tives and introduce the public to key apps
launched by the various federal and local
entities. The TRA’s app provides a con-
venient medium to complete an array of
transactions faster and more efficiently.
Other services include coverage quality,
identifying counterfeit devices, etc.
His Excellency Hamad Al Mansoori, Di-
rector General of the Telecommunications
Regulatory Authority said, “By publishing
the mGov magazine, we seek to support
the mGovernment. Such an epic initia-
tive can only achieve its desired outcome
when coupled by a media and awareness
route that aims to promote its relevant
concepts, highlight its importance and
educate the public on how to address and
overcome challenges pertaining to secu-
rity, privacy and other sensitive issues”.
“mGov aims to promote notions of the
mGovernment initiative among all society
groups. The publication is an educational
means to promote and reinforce a knowl-
edge-based environment that goes hand
in hand with the mGovernment prosper-
ity,” Al Mansoori added.
His Excellency said the TRA was keen
on launching this magazine to serve as a
forum to introduce customers to new and
updated government services in an excit-
ing way. The ultimate goal is to reinforce
the culture of smart government.
The magazine also aims to increase
awareness about the importance of de-
veloping standards of Internet browsing,
warn against risks youngsters and adults
can be exposed to, introduce the latest
technological advancements, apps and
programs and link them to society, de-
velopment plans and scientific research,
achieve family partnership and sustain-
able knowledge.
These apps comprise a large number of
accounts and services such as mail, in-
stant chatting, file transfer protocols and
voice chats to give everyone access to
technological knowledge and promote the
culture of knowledge and smart and safe
technology use.
His Excellency continued saying: “Every
project should have KPIs that assess its
success in achieving its objectives and
this monthly contest is one of mGov’s key
success indicators”.
Al Mansoori called upon anyone with an
opinion, comment or suggestion to con-
tact the mGov’s team and express their
thoughts. He said the publication is not
unilateral, but rather a platform open to
contributions, comments and discussions.
It goes in line with reinforcing the values
and goals of the mGovernment.
