1.2 billion users have been hacked
Russian hackers have stolen 1.2 billion usernames
and passwords, according to Hold Security.
This is the largest ever stolen users’ identities in the
internet history. In total, more than 420,000 web and
FTP sites were robbed.
4.5millionUS patients records hacked
4.5 million patients were victims of a cyber at-
tack against one of the biggest group of hospitals
in the United States. Hospital giant Community
Health Systems said that the personal informa-
tion of nearly 4.5 million patients was stolen by
hackers in an attack believed to originate from
China. It believes the attack occurred inApril and
June.
OneDrive’s file size upped to 10 GB
Microsoft has increased the maximum size
for files uploaded to OneDrive from 2GB to
10GB. “We recognized that people not only
have more files than they did before, but they
have bigger files as well,” Microsoft said in a
blog post. The larger files can be uploaded
via the product’s desktop software for Win-
dows and Mac OS, its mobile apps and One-
Drive.com.
$670 million market size of cloud comput-
ing in the region in 2020
The technology research firm “Frost & Sullivan” ex-
pected the cloud computing market in the GCC region
to reach US$ 670 million by 2020.
Forecasts said that the market in the GCC region is
poised for growth from 91.7 million dollars last year to
118.5 million dollars by the end of 2014 in light of fore-
casts for the global could computing market to reach
more than 125 billion dollars by the end of the year.
Google receives 1 million removal requests
Google receives about one million removal requests per day from copyright
owners and reporting organizations that represent them to remove search re-
sults that link to material that allegedly infringes copyrights. The number of re-
quests has increased dramatically when Google started to disclose information
to the public.
