Excellence
in performance is a supreme goal for every athlete. So, who does not want to be
the best in their field? However, this may prompt some to do what they should
not do to obtain quick results, which threatens and risks their health, making
it vulnerable to many dangerous diseases. This is the case for athletes who use
sports steroids that may help in the short term, but do the opposite in the
long term.
What
some athletes do not know is that these stimulants have far more harm than
benefits. They are drugs that give the body temporary efficacy in exchange for
exposing it to side effects that the athlete prone to. Stimulants vary;
including anabolic hormones that stimulate the growth process of muscles in
addition to strengthening them. There are also drugs that stimulate the nervous
system that are adopted to increase the intensity of competition.
Although
the athlete gets a satisfactory result after using these drugs, the risks of
using them may exceed what the player gains after winning, or they may even
have adverse results that do not benefit the player but rather harm him/her.
Doctors
and health experts listed many side effects that result from the use of
steroids, including muscle weakness and slackness, high blood pressure, kidney
dysfunction, heart attack and other symptoms that may affect the player for life.
Therefore,
athletes must set their eyes on their greatest goals and avoid anything that
can hinder their journey, such as continuous training and regular practice are the
best solution to reach sporting excellence and achievement.
