The United Arab Emirates and Algeria:

On the 2^nd of December last year, the United Arab Emirates celebrated the 47^th national day of the establishment of the federation. This day has represented a point of departure to a career full of hard work and achievement in all domains, in addition to always looking forward to be on the lead, and remain unique. This career has started with a construction phase guided by the state’s founder, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the UAE’s President, May Allah protects him. And it has furthermore consolidated the achievement that have been reached, and worked on developing the future performance mechanisms on modern basis and strategies.

The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Algeria characterized special  and historical relations. Firstly, by the launching of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Algeria in 1974, and the opening of the Embassy of the Algeria in Abu-Dhabi in  1975. And ever since, many high-level visits were exchanged, including five official visits by the  ex- president Abdu-El-Aziz Bouteflika to the state of Emirates. As well as several visits of big Emirati responsible to Algeria, most notably the visit of His Highness , Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, May He rests in peace, in 1973, and the visit of his highness El Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the state’s president, may God protect him, in 2007.

Unique Relations with Alegria :

The bilateral relations between the two countries are characterized by uniquely ever since the announcement of the Federal Union of Emirates. The economic relations have developed lately, as the amount of trade in 2017 increased to 595 million American Dollars, and it is expected to increase some more in the upcoming period, just as the challenges and obstacles get removed off the way. The Emirati investments in Algeria reached about special deals in several domains of common interest such as energy, metals, and tourism.

In addition to that, the 14^th session of the common committee between the two countries, held in September 2018, resulted in a major success. Various agreements concerning Islamic matters and Awqaf (religious foundations), infrastructures, culture. As well as the qualifications and standards which would focus on developing and strengthening the relations for a better perspective. The two countries have exceptional relations in sports, cultural, and developmental domains.

On one hand, In the sports domain, the UAE looks after the effective participation in all sports events where the Emirates’ national cycling team participated in the Arab Championship of Cyclists in the state of Oran. The UAE kick-boxing team also participated in the 10^th Arab Championship and earned 11 medals. The Emirati state also looks after the auspices of the special preparations of the horse races, of which most-notably, his highness El Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan International Festival for Horses, in different Algerian states.

On the other hand, there is an exceptional and serious cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and Algeria to protect bustards and conserve them, and increase their number based on the penetrating sight and leading initiatives launched by the UAE in this domain.

On the cultural level,  HE Mr Aiz-El-Din Mihoubi, Algeria’s Former  Minister of Culture was honored by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qassimi, in addition to the participation of the UAE in the International Book Fair organized each year in Algiers.

In conclusion, both countries are working on condensing and developing the perspectives of cooperation in all domains, putting on an extra effort to achieve a real addition on these latter and on the bilateral relations as well.
