Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2051-2030 has been adopted during the Third World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction held in Sendai, Japan as an outcome of consultations among governments with the support of United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction at .the request of the United Nations General Assembly


:Scope and objective


The current framework applies to the small and large-scale, recurrent, rare, sudden and slow-onset disasters risks resulting from natural or human-made hazards as well as related environmental, technological and biological hazards and risks. The framework is intended to guide the management of multiple risks caused by disaster risks during development phases at all levels, as well as within and across all sectors.


In addition to preventing disaster risks and the reducing the existing ones through the implementation of comprehensive integrated measures, in terms of economic, structural, legal, social, health, cultural, educational, environmental, technological, political and institutional regards, that prevent exposure to hazards and vulnerability to disasters, and enhance preparedness for responsiveness and recovery, thereby strengthening resilience.


The expected outputs:

Developing the State’s risk reduction strategy.


Selecting and establishing national indicators for the requested areas.


Developing risk reduction and prevention programs, projects and objectives.


Connecting the roles and responsibilities of the entities with the selected national indicators.


Reviewing and assessing the national indicators supporting data in terms of availability, accessibility, quality and conformity.
